Stabbings and multi-vehicle theft highlight busy weekend for PA police

As a result of a theft that occurred at a Prince Albert business, five company trucks were stolen and four of them had ATV’s in the box.

Friday morning’s incident in the 400 block of South Industrial Drive was one of over 400 calls for the city’s police service between May 2 and May 4.

Through their investigation, members of the Prince Albert Police Service Proactive Policing Unit (PPU) were able to track four of the vehicles to a location north of the city. PPU members worked with Prince Albert RCMP officers and were able to locate four of the stolen trucks.

One of the trucks had been burnt and at this time, none of the ATV’s were located.

One of the trucks, a grey GMC Sierra 2500 with Saskatchewan license plate 883MDS, is still outstanding as stolen. The four ATV’s are a 2021 Can-Am Out Max 650, a 2022 Can-Am Out Max XT650, a 2023 Can-Am Max XT850, and a 2024 Can-Am Max XT700.

Also on Friday, at approximately 7:25 p.m. police responded to the 800 block of 12th Street West for a weapons complaint. Initial information was a male had been stabbed.

While responding, further updates advised the suspect fled westbound. Upon arrival, officers located a male with injuries consistent with a stabbing; he was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance to receive further medical treatment.

Later that night, police received a report of the suspect showing up to a residence in the 1100 block of 13th Street West. Officers attended and located the suspect; she was arrested without further incident. The suspect and victim were known to one another.

Early Sunday morning, police were called to a business in the 3600 block of Second Avenue West for a report of a male covered in blood.

Upon arrival, Parkland Ambulance was already on scene treating the victim for injuries consistent with a stabbing; he was the transported to hospital for further treatment.

The victim did not cooperate with police. Police canvassed the area surrounding the initial call for service and were able to locate a location where it is believed the incident may have occurred.

Later that day, police were called to the 3200 block of Second Ave. W. for a weapons call. Initial information stated a female walked into the business with a firearm and threatened someone.

Arriving officers quickly located a 32-year-old woman matching the suspect description and she was arrested without further incident. Police searched the woman’s bag and located a sawed off shotgun.
