McHappy Day returns Thursday: Join Canadians in supporting families with sick and injured children

May 6, 2025 | 1:00 PM

It’s a deliciously easy way to support fellow Canadians.

The 31st McHappy Day event takes place on Thursday, May 8 with McDonald’s and local independent franchisees contributing a portion of proceeds to Ronald McDonald House Charities across the country.

RMHC Saskatchewan provides essential programs in a comforting environment to help positively impact the health and wellbeing of the entire family. There are locations in Saskatoon, Regina and in Prince Albert where a new home is being built.

Since the fast-food chain’s first McHappy Day in 1977, over $100 million has been raised.

A portion of every purchase, no matter the menu item, on Thursday supports families with sick and injured children staying with RMHC across the country, and other local children’s charities. Purchases can be made in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, through the McDonald’s app or ordering McDelivery via SkipTheDishes, DoorDash or UberEats. On May 8, there will be a $0 delivery fee for those services.

Other options to contribute on McHappy Day include a Round Up for RMHC – which will be available at the drive-thru, kiosk and front counter. Guests can round up their order total to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to RMHC in support of families in their community.

McHappy Day socks featuring four different McDonaldland characters will be sold for $6 plus tax and McHappy Day Hearts with a donation of $2, $5, or $10 will be available in-restaurant, at the drive-thru, or through the McDonald’s app.

Pattison Media radio stations from Prince Albert, Melfort, North Battleford and Meadow Lake will be participating in McHappy Day with live-on location broadcasts.
