Melfort earned their second-straight Canalta Cup championship with a five-game victory over the Weyburn Red Wings.

The Mustangs look to avenge last year’s 1-0 loss in the Centennial Cup final to the Collingwood Blues.

Melfort’s first game of the round robin is against the host Calgary Canucks at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

The SJHL champs will then take on the Edmunston Blizzard at noon on Saturday, the Rockland Nationals Tuesday at noon, Braves de Valleyfield Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The championship game will take place on Sunday at 5 p.m.

Ben Tompkins will have the call of all the Mustang games on 105 CJVR.
