Mustangs’ Blevins named finalist for CJHL Coach of the Year
Melfort Mustangs’ Head Coach Trevor Blevins has been named as a finalist for the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Coach of the Year award.
Blevins won his second career SJHL Coach of the Year award this season, as he guided the Mustangs to a franchise record 46 regular-season wins, en route to back-to-back SJHL Championships.
The Melfort native will now aim to guide the Stangs organization to their first National Championship, as they begin their quest for a Centennial Cup on Thursday in Calgary.
If Blevins were to win the award, he’d be the third SJHL coach in a row to do so, with Brayden Klimosko and Mike Reagan doing so with the Battlefords North Stars and Flin Flon Bombers.
