Mintos welcome new GM, signees in busy offseason

May 7, 2025 | 5:04 PM

Lots of new faces will don the Green and Gold next season as the busy offseason continues for the Prince Albert Mintos.

In addition to player signings, the team announced the hiring of Dennis Pott as new general manager following the departure of Kelan Wright.

Pott rejoins the Mintos from the Tisdale Trojans where he served as the director of player personnel last season. Prior to that, he spent seven seasons as a member of the Mintos and the SJHL’s Melfort Mustangs, where he served as a scout and was a member of the Mustangs’ 2024 championship team staff.

Following Pott are eight new signings so far this offseason, including forwards Brayden Church, Max Cooper, Hazen Larson, Ryder Hagel, Carter Wingert, and Linden Abercrombie, defenceman Noah Gibson, and goaltender Wyatt Nelson.

The team is also renewing the calls for a new head coach, after outgoing bench boss Doan Smith accepted a coaching position with the Prince Albert Raiders.

AA coaches announced for 2025-26

Some new faces will also be behind the bench in other teams in the city as P.A. Minor Hockey announced the coaches for the AA level for both the girls and boys teams.

Coaches are:

  • U13AA Source for Sports Buckeyes – Frank Fazio
  • U13AA Family Pizza Foxes – Cory Trann
  • U15AA Venice House Pirates – Tyson Dallman
