Several local products taken in day 2 of WHL Prospect Draft

Three more local players were selected in the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) Prospect Draft.

Kohen Ruedig of the U15 AA Humboldt Broncos was chosen in the fourth round, 81st overall, by the Portland Winterhawks.

The defenseman had 19 goals and 21 assists in 29 games last season.

The Moose Jaw Warriors picked defenseman Jeff Prpich in round five with the 94th selection.

He has signed with the Tisdale Trojans for the upcoming campaign and had 23 points in 43 games for Martensville and Warman U15 squads.

Centre Beau Anholt was taken by Lethbridge with the 248th pick in round 11.

He played with the North East Wolfpack in 2023-24, and Warman last season.

Goaltender Cohen Kuntz was taken in the 12th round by the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Kuntz had a .909 save percentage with the U15 AA Humboldt Broncos this past season.

Kash Elke was taken by Moose Jaw 18th overall in the first round on Wednesday.
