P.A. RCMP police vehicle struck during traffic stop
Prince Albert RCMP are on the lookout for a vehicle and the suspect driving it that rammed into a police vehicle Saturday night on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
It all started around 7:30 p.m. when officers responded to a report of someone committing mischief to a vehicle outside of a business on the First Nation. A man had approached a parked vehicle and struck it with an object before starting a verbal altercation with the owner. The suspect then fled in a white car that had other occupants in side.
Responding Prince Albert RCMP members found the car on Sturgeon Lake First Nation and used their emergency equipment to try and stop it but the car fled from police. Short after, the vehicle was located at the intersection of Bison Trail and Sturgeon Lake Road. The suspect car drove towards police, striking the side of the police vehicle, before fleeing again at a high rate of speed.
The officer driving the police vehicle was not physically injured; however, the police vehicle was damaged.
