A 26-year-old man is facing charges in connection to an incident in Prince Albert this week in which bear spray was released inside a home and four people required medical attention.

On May 10, at approximately 9:50 a.m. police responded to the 400 block of 20 Street West for a weapons complaint. Further updates stated a male had bear sprayed the residence and fled the scene.

Upon arrival, officers located four people suffering from the effects of bear spray. The Prince Albert Fire Department attended and assisted in safely removing the people from the building. They were then treated on scene by Parkland Ambulance paramedics.

A source close to the incident confirmed at least one of the victims was a young child.

Through initial investigation, officers learned a vehicle pulled into the back driveway and a male exited the vehicle and knocked on the door before deploying bear spray at the back of the residence. The suspect then fled the scene.

After locating the suspect vehicle in the 300 block of River Street West, officers then attended to a residence where the suspect was located and arrested him without further incident.

Kain Fiddler has been charged with assault with a weapon and failure to comply with a probation order. He’ll make his next court appearance on May 15.
