A busy time for local fire departments.

Kinistino Fire Department crews were sent to a collision involving a grader on Coxby Road Monday morning.

Two vehicles had run into a grader that was performing road maintenance.

Seven occupants of the two vehicles fled the scene before crews arrived.

RCMP caught the seven people involved, and Kinistino fire crews helped clear the vehicles off the road.

The Melfort Fire Department (MFD) was called to two separate fires in recent days.

The department was called out Sunday night to a field fire that appeared to be spreading.

Last year’s straw had piled up under an air seeder that was seeding a field and caught on fire but the flames had nearly burned out by the time crews arrived.

During the supper hour on Monday, crews were called about a semi on fire west of Beatty.

The semi was fully engulfed in flames by the time the department arrived. No trailer was attached to the semi, and the department was quickly able to put out the fire.

There were no reports of injuries in any of the incidents.
