Air quality warning issued for Battlefords area

The Battlefords area has been issued an air quality warning due to smoke from wildfires in Central Saskatchewan.

The smoke is currently causing, or is expected to cause, poor air quality and reduced visibility.

Heavy smoke conditions can affect everyone, regardless of age or health.
Common symptoms may include eye, nose, and throat irritation, mild coughing, or headaches.

Less common but more serious symptoms include chest pain, severe coughing, or wheezing. If you experience these, seek medical attention immediately.

As a precaution, people should try to limit their time outdoors, reschedule or cancel any outdoor sports or activities and for those at a higher risk, such as seniors, pregnant individuals, infants and young children, people with chronic illnesses, and those who work outside, should avoid strenuous outdoor activity and monitor for symptoms.
