Prince Albert fatal crash case committed for trial

May 16, 2025 | 5:00 PM

A woman alleged responsible for a fatal crash in Prince Albert has been committed to stand trial for criminal negligence causing death.

That was the outcome of Christina Vlahos’s preliminary inquiry hearing, which wrapped up on Friday afternoon with the decision from Judge Rogers. Previously released on bail, she sat alone in the courtroom.

The actual hearing, which included eight Crown witnesses, concluded last month. Both the evidence presented and the judge’s reasons for committal are protected by a publication ban.

The crash that claimed the life of 30-year-old Daniella Clarke occurred on Dec. 2, 2023, at the intersection of 28 Street W. and Central Ave. There were three vehicles involved, and Clarke was a passenger.

Vlahos was behind the wheel of a vehicle not directly involved in the crash itself, but according to police, played a role in the end result.

Clarke was living in Prince Albert, but had connections to Southend. (Facebook)

Vlahos’s trial will be held at Court of King’s Bench. Trial dates may be set during a pre-trial hearing on June 27. Vlahos was also charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm to the 53-year-old driver of the vehicle that was struck.

Also charged in the case was Kayla Walker, who was allegedly behind the wheel of the actual vehicle that struck the one Clarke was in. Her case has previously been committed for trial at Court of King’s Bench and dates are still being scheduled.

Police also arrested and charged a 38-year-old man with assault causing bodily harm. It had to do with another male passenger. Jamie Charles was sentenced last February and received six months probation.

Clarke had a young son.
