Saskatchewan RCMP charge man with kidnapping
A 24-year old man from Canoe Narrows, SK is facing several charges following an incident that started May 15 on Island Lake First Nation (Ministikwan).
Around 11:00 p.m., Loon Lake RCMP received a report that a woman was potentially taken against her will. Their investigation determined a man entered a home with a firearm and left with a woman. Despite extensive patrols in the area, officers were unable to locate them so a dangerous person alert was issued the next morning around 10:25 a.m.
Shortly after, RCMP located the suspect vehicle off Highway #699, however, there were no occupants. A Remotely Piloted Aircraft System and the RCMP Police Dog Services were used to locate the man and woman in a nearby wooded area. The woman was assessed by EMS for injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.
Officers located and seized an airsoft handgun and an inoperable firearm and charged Mike Bouvier with one count of kidnapping, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats, assault, theft of a motor vehicle and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
