Antinsin joins the Mintos from the Bodens HF J20 (U20) regional club in northeastern Sweden, where he’s spent the past two seasons as head coach. While there, he also coached IF Boden in 2023-24, who played in Hockeytvåan, the fourth level of pro hockey in Sweden.

As head coach of the U20 team, Antinsin guided the team to a second place finish in 2023-24 with a 10-4-0-0 (W-L-OTW-OTL) record, followed by a league best 10-2-1-1 record in 2024-25. Prior to coaching overseas, he spent time behind the bench in Wilcox, Sask. coaching as a head and as an assistant with the Notre Dame Hounds’ U15, U17, and U18 Prep teams, as well as serving as an associate coach for the Hounds in the SJHL.

“With a background in player development and a passion for cultivating young talent, Dion has coached at multiple elite levels across North America and Europe,” read the post. “His experience overseas has shaped a coaching style that blends North American intensity with European finesse — a combination that aligns with the Mintos’ tradition of excellence.”

Antinsin also played at Notre Dame in his youth, despite being born in Kelowna, B.C. and growing up in Switzerland.

He played U18 AA for the Hounds in 2011 and AAA for the Argos in 2012, before making the jump to Jr. A playing for the Hounds in the SJHL for parts of three seasons from 2013-15. Antinsin also played in the U.S., spending time with the Austin Bruins in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), Concordia University Wisconsin in NCAA Div. III, and the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in ACHA Div. II.

After his time at UNLV, he made the jump to pro and went back to Switzerland, playing parts of two seasons for HC Sion-Nendaz 4 Vallées, Star-Forward HC, and HC Monthey-Chablais.

Last season, the Mintos finished eighth in the Sask. Male AAA Hockey League (SMAAAHL) standings and lost out of the playoffs in the first round to the eventual provincial and Telus Cup (National) Champion Regina Pat Canadians. The first round exit marked the fourth consecutive for the club, dating back to the 2021-22 season.
