Prince Albert drugs and weapons bust results in 36 charges

Appearing before a judge on Friday, a man was read 36 charges related to drug trafficking and guns.

Tyson Tobey, 30, appeared at Prince Albert Provincial Court, and was ultimately remanded to May 27 for a possible bail hearing. He did indicate he has a private lawyer.

The arrest happened on Thursday, and a home in Prince Albert’s midtown area was searched. Over 100 grams of cocaine seized, as well over 700 grams of meth.

According to details heard in court, read by Judge Lori O’Connor, there were also six guns found inside the home (both shotguns and rifles) and two crossbows.

Additionally, police seized a quantity of cash totalling $2,470.

According to a statement provided by police, members of the Crime Reduction Team (CRT) were made aware of an individual believed to have firearms and trafficking drugs in Prince Albert.

Throughout the investigation, members of the CRT were able to obtain enough evidence to arrest Tobey at a business north of Prince Albert. Further investigation led to a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrants being executed at a residence in the 500 block of 10th Street East.

One vehicle was also seized as part of the investigation.
