A 24-year-old and 19-year-old are facing multiple charges following an armed robbery in North Battleford on Sunday.

Austin Dreaver and Kalayah Jackson made their first appearances earlier Monday in North Battleford Provincial Court.

According to police, the armed robbery took place on 109th St., where three people attempted to break into a camper. One of them had a firearm. A man then came out and got into a fight with the three-would-be robbers who then pointed the weapon at him. All three fled on foot and although police searched the area, they were not found.

A police dog, however, tracked two of the suspects to a home on 110 St. and subsequently, a man and woman were arrested.

Both are charged with one count, robbery – with firearm, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of careless use of a firearm, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, one count of pointing a firearm and one count, mischief under $5000.

Dreaver’s next appearance has been adjourned for election on June 16 and Jackson’s bail hearing is set for May 28.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
