There were about 300 calls for service made to the Prince Albert Police Service over the last few days.

On Thursday, a woman was arrested and charged in connection to a shooting in the 900 Block of 17th Street West. Just before 2 pm., a man arrived at the police station and said a woman attempted to rob him at gunpoint. He had managed to grab her gun and fired it at her during an altercation. He told police he had the firearm with him. Patrol members arrested the man and seized the gun. Shortly after, officers located the woman with injuries consistent with a gun shot. She was taken to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, but was arrested after she was discharged. As a result of the investigation, the 36-year-old woman has been charged with multiple firearms charges, armed robbery, and discharging a firearm with intent to endanger a life.

There was another incident in the city of failing to stop for police. On Friday, around 7 p.m., police were called to the 400 block of 12th Street East for a report of a gunshot. When officers located the suspect vehicle at the intersection of 6th Avenue East and 15th Street East, they attempted to box the vehicle in, but the suspect vehicle began to drive, collided with a cop car and fled the scene. The Prince Albert Police Service said officers did not pursue the vehicle to ensure public safety as traffic was heavy at the time. Police did eventually find a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description later that night, but again the vehicle fled and police did not pursue. The vehicle is described as a black Audi with Saskatchewan license plate 344 NUP.

A robbery took place on Friday night shortly after 9 p.m. Police were called to the 800 block of 15th Street East. A man had robbed another man and threatened him with a wrench. He was arrested, but after being placed into the back of a patrol car, a woman the suspect was with opened the car door in an attempt to help the man escape. Officers stopped the man and arrested the woman after a short foot pursuit. Both face charges.

On Saturday morning, one man was arrested, and another was sent to hospital with serious injuries following a stabbing. It happened around 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of 18th Street West. The victim was taken to hospital for further treatment. A 25-year old man has been charged with aggravated assault and breaching a release order.

Another stabbing took place around midnight on Sunday. Police responded to the 1600 block of 17th Street West and found a man with stab wounds. The suspect, a 22-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Two children located at the scene were taken into the care of Mobile Crisis. The suspect and victim were known to each other.

Other incidents of crime included a 43-year-old man who is now facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop on Friday. Police initially made the stop on a suspicion of impaired driving, but further investigation revealed the man had a machete, and more than 150 grams of cocaine.

On Sunday evening around 9:30 p.m. Prince Albert RCMP received a report that a woman was injured by a firearm on a grid road in the Muskoday First Nation area. Her injuries were non-life threatening. RCMP are asking anyone with information about the incident, or anyone who saw suspicious activity in the rural areas in and around Muskoday First Nation to contact them at 310-RCMP or through Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
