Peace Pole erected at Rotary Adventure Park

May 27, 2025 | 2:05 PM

A first of its kind peace pole has gone up at Prince Albert’s Rotary Adventure Park.

A small ceremony was held Monday afternoon and involved representatives from the Rotary Club and City Council and Wahpeton Dakota Nation Elder, Cy Standing.

The Peace Pole is part of a global Rotary initiative to inspire peace and unity in communities worldwide.

“This Peace Pole is not just a monument — it’s a message,” said a Rotary Club president Lisa Bos Atchison. “It’s a call to our community and our world to choose peace, together.”

This Peace Pole will be the first of several planned for locations throughout Prince Albert. Each pole bears the message ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth’ in several different languages.

The Peace Pole is being installed as an extension of the Rotary Adventure Park, the Club’s Centennial Project, and supports Rotary’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation and community harmony.
