Prince Albert police locate vehicle involved in reported shooting

May 27, 2025 | 2:04 PM

A vehicle involved in a Prince Albert shooting investigation was unoccupied when it was located and seized on Monday.

Tuesday’s update from the city’s police service also confirmed the black Audi with Saskatchewan license plate 344 NUP was parked in the 1500 block of Fourth St. E.

The ongoing investigation dates back to Friday, around 7 p.m., when police were called to the 400 block of 12 Street East for a report of a gunshot.

When officers located the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Sixth Ave. E. and 15 St. E., they attempted to box the vehicle in, but the suspect vehicle began to drive, collided with a cop car and fled the scene.

Out of concern for public safety, and because traffic was busy at the time, Prince Albert police did not pursue. They did however eventually find a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle’s description later that night, but again the vehicle fled and police did not pursue.

Then on Monday, while on routine patrol, a member of the Prince Albert Police Service observed the vehicle driving westbound on 28 Street East.

Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle initially pulled over before the passenger of the vehicle jumped onto the centre console and began to drive the vehicle while the driver was still inside.

Officers did not continue to engage to ensure public safety.

Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact police. Anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers.
