Crime of the Week: Heavy machinery severely damaged in deliberate act costing $100K

May 28, 2025 | 5:02 PM

Multiple pieces of heavy machinery had its wiring deliberately cut at a construction site earlier this week in the Prince Albert Crime Stoppers Crime of the Week.

According to reports, the incident took place sometime on May 24 or 25 at the site along 10th Avenue West in Prince Albert, where several machines were found with critical wiring deliberately cut.

The suspect(s) appeared to have used bolt cutters and a similar sharp tool to sever electrical wires that control hydraulic systems, backup cameras, and other essential technology, and in some cases, the engine panels were opened to cut multiple internal wires.

Police said the attack was targeted and deliberate, and the damage is estimated at around $100,000.

No suspects have been identified, and no recent employee departures indicate an internal motive.

Anyone with information about the incident, or who may have noticed any suspicious activity around the site on May 24 or 25, is asked to contact Prince Albert Police or Crime Stoppers.
