Armed scooter thief arrested by Prince Albert Police

The Prince Albert Police Service made an arrest on Monday after an incident where a 10-year-old child had their scooter stolen.

Police were called to the 1000 block of 15th Street West on Monday, June 2 around 12:50 p.m. after reports of a female with a knife stole a scooter from a child.

Once police arrived, they found the 10-year-old victim and their father who had recovered the scooter, and police were given a description of the suspect.

Police then found a female matching the description, and that female discarded a knife before police arrested her.

As a result, 25-year-old Elsie Rainey was charged with robbery and carrying a concealed weapon. She made her first court appearance on Tuesday where her case was adjourned until Thursday.
