NBFD sending support to La Ronge
Six fire fighters from the Battlefords are heading up north to help join the efforts to battle the wildfires near La Ronge.
According to a news release issued by the City of North Battleford, the request for help came from Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency and along with the personnel, the North Battleford Fire Department team, who left earlier Tuesday morning, has taken along an engine truck, a command unit, and an all terrain side-by-side.
At this time, Meadow Lake Fire and Rescue will not be sending any support due to a lack of staff but will be keeping an eye on the situation, especially as temperatures are expected to spike next week.
Meanwhile, North Battleford is preparing to welcome more evacuees into the community and is working with multiple agencies and levels of government to support evacuees who have arrived in North Battleford in addition to preparing for others.
