North East SPCA hosting car show in Melfort

Jun 4, 2025 | 6:00 AM

A car show is returning to Melfort Father’s Day weekend, but there’s a difference this year.

The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce isn’t hosting the annual Show and Shine; however, the North East SPCA is taking the wheel this year.

The NESPCA Kars 4 K9’s car show is being held at the Melfort Exhibition Grounds Friday, June 13.

Diamond Dodge will kick things off with a barbecue that day, starting at 11.

SPCA spokesperson Bill Wood told northeastNOW the gates for the car show will open at 2 p.m., with the beer gardens kicking off at 4 p.m. Wood said children are allowed in the beer garden as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

“At 6 p.m., we’ve got the judging of all the cars that will be coming in,” Wood said. A smoke show will follow at 6:30 at the Grandstand, which is a presentation of the Northeast Motorsports Association.

Admission to the car show is free, and donations to the North East SPCA are greatly appreciated. Entry will be both at the main gate and the south gate.

Wood said there will be other attractions at Kars 4 K9’s.

“We’ve got a silent auction, that will be at the beer garden location, a 50/50 draw at 10 o’clock, the smoke show ends at 10:30, and last call at the beer garden is going to be at 10 o’clock.”

The North East SPCA will be barbecuing at the event, and several food trucks will also be on-site for event goers. Wood said there is also going to be an adopt-an-animal area in the show ring.
