The Prince Albert Police Service is releasing more details about an incident on Wednesday that had patrol members, the Crime Reduction Team, Proactive Policing Unit and Emergency Response Team all respond to the 1400 block of 13th Street West.

Police were initially called around 10:30 a.m. for a report of a man walking around with a firearm. Officers set up a perimeter around the house they suspected the man to be in and gave verbal commands for him to exit. Initially one woman came out, then a man and two children walked out a few minutes later.

That’s when officers learned the suspect may have switched houses. They surrounded a second residence and after about an hour and a half, the suspect came out but he was uncooperative with police and went back in side for a short time before he exited again and was taken into custody without further incident.

Police said a woman found inside the home was also taken into custody. Officers executed search warrants on the two homes and found a firearm that was not loaded.
