Suspect on the run after shooting in Prince Albert’s west flat

Prince Albert Police have confirmed they are investigating a shooting. At approximately 6:45 p.m. Wednesday evening, officers responded to the 1900 block of 14th Street West for a weapons complaint.

Initial information stated a man had been shot.

Officers quickly arrived on scene and located a male victim with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. Police began to render aid to the victim before Parkland Ambulance arrived on scene and transported the man to hospital with serious injuries.

Through their investigation, officers learned the suspect fled the scene on a bike. The suspect and the victim are believed to be known to each other. Police are continuing to investigate this shooting, and anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

A neighbour who was working outside at the time of the shooting told paNOW she heard a loud “bang.”
