Three charged after RCMP execute ‘high-risk’ warrants in Lloydminster
Several people were arrested after a police operation involving the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team shut down part of east Lloydminster on Wednesday afternoon.
Mounties say the “K” Division Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services were deployed June 4 to assist with the execution of high-risk warrants on 45 Avenue in Lloydminster, Sask.
The arrests stemmed from an ongoing investigation led by the city’s RCMP detachment and its General Investigation Section. Police say the deployment of specialized resources was necessary to ensure public and officer safety.
Three men are now facing charges: a 33-year-old from Edmonton, Alta., is charged with obstructing a police officer and failing to comply with a release order; a 51-year-old from Martensville, Sask., is charged with flight from police; and a 35-year-old from Kehewin First Nation, Alta., is charged with failing to comply with a release order.
