Warman Wolverines officially newest team in SJHL
After the announcement came back in March that the SJHL had approved the location of the Notre Dame Hounds to Warman for the upcoming 2025-26 season, the newly minted Warman Wolverines needed to wait for approval from Warman City Council and the results of a season ticket campaign.
The season ticket drive was a success, City Council have given their approval, and the Warman Wolverines are officially the newest team in the SJHL after Saturday’s SJHL General Meeting.
The franchse is led by co-founders Cole Kachur and Jonathan Abrametz. The two have stated that Warman’s rapid growth and strong hockey culture as major reasons for bringing the team to Warman.
The Wolverines will be the first representation of the Saskatoon area since the Saskatoon Rage folded in 1999. They’ll replace the Notre Dame Hounds, who have been one of the league’s most storied franchises since joining the SJHL in 1987 based out of Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan.
