Man responsible for Crescent Heights shooting enters guilty pleas

Jun 9, 2025 | 5:08 PM

A trial is not proceeding for a man charged after a shooting last year in Prince Albert’s Crescent Heights neighbourhood.

Harley Theriault’s case was discussed Monday morning at provincial court and guilty pleas were entered to discharging a firearm with intent to wound, possession of an unauthorized firearm and breach of a previous court order related to possessing a gun.

In the late evening of Feb. 28, 2024, police were called to a residence in the 700 Block of 22 Street East.

The victim, a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound, was transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

Through their investigation, police learned the suspects involved in the shooting had gone into a home on the street, which police then blocked off and tried to contact the suspects inside to no avail.

The Emergency Response Team was called and by 8:30 the following morning, three suspects left the house and were arrested.

Prince Albert police confirmed this was not a random act.

Another man, Brennan Sewap, was previously wanted by police for unrelated matters, and was only facing breach related charges. The third person arrested, a 31-year-old woman, was released with no charges.

Theriault’s sentencing hearing has been scheduled for Sept. 8.
