PA police investigate stabbings, suspects on the run

The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating a pair of stabbings.

They occurred less than 24 hours apart and in both cases, the victim’s injuries were described as non-life threatening.

On June 9, at approximately 11:20 p.m. police were called to the Victoria Hospital for a report of a male who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers located the victim being treated by medical staff.

Through their investigation officers learned the stabbing occurred in the 1400 block of 12 Street West.

The next incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of 17th Street West for a reported assault with a weapon. Initial information stated a male had been stabbed.

Officers arrived on scene shortly after and located the injured male. He was treated by Parkland Ambulance Paramedics and transported to hospital.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and the surrounding area was canvassed but the suspect was not located.

The suspect and victim are believed to be known to one another.

Police are continuing to investigate these incidents and anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
