
LLRIB Chief Tammy Cook-Searson becomes new chair of SIGA
Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) Chief Tammy Cook-Searson has a new title to add to her name.
The longtime leader has been named the new board chair of the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA). She replaces outgoing board chair and former Chief of Muskowekwan First Nation, Reginald Bellerose, who had held the position since February 2015.
Cook-Searson, who’s been Chief of the LLRIB for two decades, first joined SIGA’s Board of Directors in 2018 and has been a regular SIGA Board member, as well as a member of its Audit and Finance Committee. She has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a graduate diploma in management from Athabasca University.
She also holds honorary degrees from the University of Regina, the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
