EDITOR’S NOTE: The initial article incorrectly stated officers seized methamphetamine. The drug was actually ketamine.

A Melfort man has received a conditional sentence after a drug trafficking investigation last year.

Bret Markowski was handed a conditional sentence for drug trafficking and was ordered to pay a surcharge.

He also received a firearm prohibition, while the two other counts he faced were withdrawn.

The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team (CRT) and Melfort RCMP executed a search warrant at a home on Burns Ave. in Melfort last August, as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Officers seized small amounts of cocaine and ketamine at the scene, along with cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
