Two charged after RCMP vehicles rammed at Melfort detachment

Two people face charges after multiple RCMP vehicles were intentionally damaged in Melfort.

The incident happened yesterday evening at around 9:30, when a truck was driving around the area erratically, striking three parked police vehicles and two dumpsters.

The male driver exited the truck, while a female passenger got into the driver’s seat and took off.

The male initially resisted but was soon arrested.

The truck was spotted nearby and the woman was also arrested.

A Saskatoon man, 45-year-old Terrance Whitehead, faces charges including dangerous driving, driving while impaired by drugs, and resisting arrest.

The woman faces a charge of driving while impaired by drugs.

A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist continues to investigate.

One of the police vehicles was severely damaged and is no longer drivable, while another requires repairs.

No one was injured in the incident.
