Nipawin Fire Department called to vehicle fire

Jun 19, 2025 | 10:52 AM

A vac truck went up in flames in Nipawin on Wednesday.

The Nipawin Fire Department (NFD) was called just before 11 a.m. to the fire along Highway 55 on the outskirts of town.

The truck was fully engulfed in flames by the time crews arrived, but they were able to put it out.

High expansion foam was used to blanket the scene.

The NFD thanked the workers for calling 9-1-1 as those fires can produce deadly smoke from burning plastics and upholstery.

They say the fires can also be intense, radiating heat several feet away which can damage nearby buildings or other vehicles.
