Two men wanted in WLFN shooting

An early morning Sunday shooting has left one man in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries following a fight on Waterhen Lake First Nation.

According to police, the altercation took place between a group of people and as a result, a 27-year-old man from WLFN, Christopher Ernest, and a 23-year-old man from Canoe Lake Cree First Nation, Brandon McCallum, are each wanted as they are facing multiple weapons charges.

The 27-year-old is charged with one count of carry a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of discharge firearm with intent. The 23-year-old is charged with one count of carry a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of assault with a weapon.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests and Meadow Lake RCMP are actively working to locate them.

The elder of the two is described as roughly six feet tall and 165 pounds. The second is the same height but about 220 pounds. He is also described as having a tattoo of writing and a feather on his left hand, as well as a skull and a knife on his left arm.

If spotted, police remind the public not to approach.
