Jun 24, 2025 | 12:46 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders won’t need to wait until December to renew their Highway 11 rivalry with the Saskatoon Blades this season.

Instead, the Raiders and Blades will face off in the Western Hockey League’s (WHL) opening weekend in a home-and-home set. P.A. will host the Blades for either team’s first contest of the year on Friday, Sept. 19 at the Art Hauser Centre, followed by a rematch the following night on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.

Also in September, the Raiders will hit the road for a pair of games, visiting Regina on Sept. 26 and Brandon on Sept. 27.

In October, Prince Albert will play eight total games with all but one of those games being played at home. The month will see the first interdivisional contests of the season along with the first interconference games. Some notable nights include Oct. 4 versus Red Deer when former Raiders head coach Marc Habscheid makes his return to the Art Hauser Centre, Oct. 8 versus Vancouver in a 2019 finals rematch, Oct. 10 versus Kamloops, Oct. 18 versus Edmonton in a first round rematch from last season, and Oct. 31 versus Calgary. The lone road contest comes during a home-and-home set with Swift Current on Oct. 25. The Raiders will host the Broncos a day earlier on Oct. 24.

November will see the longest road trip of the season for the Green and Gold when they take their biennial trip to visit the U.S. Division. Prior to crossing the border though, the Raiders will make a stop in Lethbridge on Nov. 5 to kick off their seven-game roadie. Immediately following the game, P.A. will trek to Spokane to line up against last season’s Western Conference Champions on Nov. 7, followed by stops in Tri-City on Nov. 8, Everett on Nov. 11, Portland on Nov. 12, Seattle on Nov. 14, and they wrap up the trip in Wenatchee on Nov. 15. The Raiders first game home will be on Nov. 21 against Brandon, followed by a rematch between the two in Brandon on Nov. 28. A day later, Prince Albert will host the 2025 WHL Champions Medicine Hat.

To start December, the Raiders will hit the road again, heading west this time to Alberta for a five-game trip. They’ll start in Medicine Hat on Dec. 3 and travel to Calgary on Dec. 5, with stops in Red Deer on Dec. 6 and Edmonton on Dec. 7, marking the first three-in-three weekend of the year. P.A. will close out the roadie on Dec. 12 with a trip to Swift Current. That game sparks the second consecutive three-in-three for the team, as they’ll be back home on Dec. 13 versus Lethbridge, and back on the road on Dec. 14 against Saskatoon. Another notable date in December is on the 19, when then welcome the 2025 Memorial Cup host Kelowna to the Art Hauser Centre.

The Raiders will open the new year in January at home versus Regina on Jan. 2 in a home-and-home set. The following weekend, Prince Albert will host Swift Current and Edmonton on Jan. 9 and 10, along with Brandon on Jan. 13. On the 16 and 17, the Raiders will head to southern Alberta for back-to-back contests against Lethbridge and Medicine Hat, and will be back at home on Jan. 20 to welcome Victoria.

February will see Prince Albert welcome the last of the B.C. Division teams with the newest member of the league, Penticton, making their first trip to Hockeytown North on Feb. 27. Prince George will be in town the following night on the 28. Other notable games for the month include Feb. 4 against Calgary and Feb. 6 versus Lethbridge.

To close out the final month of the regular season in March, the Raiders will host Red Deer on March 3 before heading to Alberta to rematch a few days later during their final three-in-three weekend. The trip begins in Calgary on March 6 with stops in Red Deer on March 7 and Edmonton on March 8.

The Raiders will close out the regular season just like how it started, with a home-and-home against Saskatoon. Game one of the set will be at the Art Hauser Centre on Mar. 20, and the final game of the season will be on March 21 in Saskatoon.

The pre-season schedule was announced last week and will see the Raiders play five games. P.A. will play four games against Saskatoon, with the first happening Sept. 2 at the Art Hauser Centre. That’s followed by back-to-back games versus the Blades in Prince Albert on Sept. 3 and 5, before the final game in Warman on Sept. 6. The Raiders then finish off their preseason with a pair of games with Regina, the first being played in Yorkton on Sept. 12, followed by a rematch at the Art Hauser Centre on Sept. 13.
