Conditions favourable for tornadoes continue

Environment Canada issued a critical alert for a tornado Wednesday evening.

Shortly after 7 p.m. alerts were sent for the R.M. of Paynton including Paynton, and the areas around Turtleford, Mervin, Spruce Lake and Edam.

The possible tornado is located between Maidstone and Paynton and is tracking to the east at 30 km/h.

Meterologists said conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms which may produce tornadoes. Strong winds, large hail and heavy rain are also possible.
