Patterson Park location of Canada Day activities

Residents of the tri-communities are invited to celebrate Canada Day in La Ronge on Tuesday.

The day will begin with a pancake breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Kikinahk Friendship Centre, followed by a parade at 11 a.m. from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band office to Patterson Park.

The park will be the location of many events between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be tube rides for children and youth, a giant slip and slide, a volleyball tournament and a pickleball demonstration. Sum Theatre will be in town to perform two showings of their latest play, Breathe, at noon and 2 p.m.

In addition, the La Ronge and District Filipino-Canadian Community will be offering a free Filipino feast from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ice Cream Alley will also be on location.
