Parks Canada welcomes visitors to Prince Albert National Park and encourages everyone to enjoy this special place safely and responsibly.

Summer in Prince Albert National Park is the perfect getaway to reconnect with friends, family and nature. A little planning goes a long way: staying safe and being prepared means more time for adventure. With the warmer months comes an increase in both visitation and risky behaviours that can put people and wildlife at risk.

This summer, as part of the Government of Canada’s Canada Strong Pass, admission to Prince Albert National Park—and all Parks Canada-administered places—is free from June 20 to September 2, and visitors will receive a 25 per cent discount on camping fees.

This initiative increases accessibility and supports Canadians in connecting with nature. It also means that high visitation levels are expected, especially on weekends. Planning ahead, knowing what to expect, and having a backup plan will be more important than ever.

Safety is a shared responsibility. All visitors are asked to plan ahead, follow park rules, and make informed choices that respect the natural environment and fellow park users.

Whether it’s wearing a PFD on the water, keeping your distance from wildlife, or knowing other rules and regulations aimed at keeping you safe, preparedness is key to a safe and enjoyable experience.

We want everyone to have a great visit—and equally important, we want everyone to have a safe one
