BREAKING: Crane collapses at construction site in Saskatoon’s Forest Grove

Jul 5, 2025 | 12:19 PM

One person has been taken to hospital after a crane collapsed at a construction site in Saskatoon’s Forest Grove neighbourhood on Saturday morning.

The construction site, on Webster Street, is next to Forest Grove Community Church, and the site of a rental community development called The Hadley, being built by WestCliff Properties, a Saskatoon based real estate development, investment and management company.

The company’s website says The Hadley site will include “162 residential units from bachelor suites to three-bedroom units.”

Neighbours stood on their lawns as they watched rescue crews enter the structure that is under construction, and described a loud and thunderous bang that woke up the entire neighbourhood.

One neighbour told reporters that after the crash he heard cries for help from the top floor. The condition of the person taken to hospital is not known.

A dozen emergency vehicles were on the scene including police cruisers, ambulance, fire trucks and the battalion chief.
