Women Entrepreneurs Saskatchewan (WESK) has announced Lisa Haynes, a rancher and insurance broker from Biggar, has been reappointed as a West-Central Region Rural Ambassador for the for a second term.

Haynes is one of seven regional ambassadors chosen to represent rural communities across Saskatchewan through WESK’s Rural Ambassador Program, which is supported by Prairies Economic Development Canada (PrairiesCan). The program aims to strengthen the presence and success of women entrepreneurs in smaller centres by fostering local connections and improving access to business resources.

A well-known figure in her community, Haynes owns and operates a ranch and is an insurance broker at Biggar & District Insurance Services, where she provides insurance services tailored to rural clients. With a background in agriculture and a passion for supporting women in business, she brings firsthand experience and insight to the ambassador role.

“As a business owner, rancher, and mom, I know the unique challenges women in rural communities face when starting or growing their businesses,” Haynes said. “Being a Rural Ambassador allows me to meet other incredible women and provide the support and encouragement we often go without. I’m excited to continue making these connections and helping women in our region access the resources they deserve.”

In her ambassador role, Haynes will continue organizing mentorship opportunities and networking events, and providing local women entrepreneurs with guidance, business information, and access to WESK’s programs and financial support.

Her continued leadership ensures that women entrepreneurs in communities like Biggar remain an active part of Saskatchewan’s growing entrepreneurial landscape.
