A 39-year-old woman from Lloydminster is facing multiple charges after police seized drugs and contraband tobacco during a search at a local property.

Lloydminster RCMP said members of their Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant on July 4 following tips received through Crime Stoppers.

Mounties seized about 10 grams of methamphetamine, 84 grams of cocaine, small amounts of psilocybin and MDMA (ecstasy or moly), cannabis, 70 cartons of unstamped tobacco and a set of brass knuckles.

The woman was arrested and is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of cannabis with intent to sell or distribute and possession of unstamped tobacco products for the purpose of sale.

She has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Sept. 15.

“This warrant is part of our continued commitment to targeting drug trafficking and associated criminal activity in our community,” said Cst. Jason DeCoste of the Lloydminster RCMP CRU in a release issued Wednesday night.

“The seizure of these dangerous substances helps reduce the threat to public safety.”

Police are asking anyone with information about drug trafficking or other criminal activity in the area to contact Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www.P3Tips.com.
