One dead after rural fire in Pierceland area

Around 1:30 p.m. on July 11, 2025, Pierceland RCMP received a report of a sudden death at a rural property in the RM of Beaver River, Saskatchewan.
Police responded along with local firefighters and found a deceased adult female.
The female has been identified as 25-year-old Juanita Wahpistikwan from Big Island Lake Cree Nation, and the family has been notified.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes are now investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, and they’re asking to speak with anyone who would have made contact with her on July 10 or 11 before her passing.
