Meth, hash, MDMA seized at Sask. Pen

Jul 17, 2025 | 3:09 PM

Almost $200,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert last week.

Corrections Canada said that vigilant staff members were responsible for the discovery of methamphetamine, hashish and MDMA that are worth $187,000 in the jail.

Police have been notified and are investigating.

As always, the federal corrections service is warning the public that a number of tools are used to help prevent drugs from coming into the prison.

That includes scanners and drug-detector dogs that search property, inmates and visitors. They also monitor for drones.

CSC has set up a telephone tip line for all federal institutions so that it may receive additional information about activities relating to security at CSC institutions.

These activities may be related to drug use or trafficking that may threaten the safety and security of visitors, inmates, and staff members.

The toll-free number, 1‑866‑780‑3784, helps ensure that the information shared is protected and that callers remain anonymous.
