Melfort parade entertains large crowd

It’s a sure sign summer is in full swing – the Melfort Parade was held in the city on Friday.

The Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce organized this year’s parade with the theme ‘Back to the Future.’

Warm, dry weather greeted parade-goers as the event wound down Bemister Ave. E., Brunswick St., Park Ave., Main St., Burrows Ave. E., and ended at the Northern Lights Palace parking lot.

Chamber Executive Director Lorana McComber told northeastNOW that the parade is a great way to showcase the businesses in Melfort and area, and the businesses also have fun decorating floats and participating.

The event also coincides with the first day of the annual Melfort Exhibition.

The fair will run Friday through Sunday at the exhibition grounds.
