Truck strikes elk near Wapiti Ski Hill

The Nipawin Fire Department was called to collision between a vehicle and wildlife on the weekend.

A pickup truck struck a cow elk south of Wapiti Ski Hill on Highway 6 late Sunday night.

The department said the wounded animal was destroyed by the RCMP.

Fortunately, no one in the vehicle was injured.
