A 23-year-old woman is facing drug trafficking and firearms charges after Saskatchewan RCMP expanded their investigation into a series of raids in Martensville and North Battleford.

Mounties said Maddison Dziadul of Martensville, who was initially released without charges after last month’s searches, is now facing 10 charges.

Those charges include six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each of careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm when knowing possession is unauthorized, and possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammo without a licence/registration.

She is scheduled to appear in North Battleford provincial court on Sept. 15.

The new charges follow an operation by the North Battleford Crime Reduction Team–Gang Task Force, which executed search warrants at three locations on July 30: a home on Heibert Crescent in Martensville, along with a business near Highway 16 and Poundmaker Trail and a home on St. Laurent Drive, both in North Battleford.

Police say the searches turned up four illegal firearms, three of them loaded, two replica firearms, 246 grams of suspected MDMA, 55 grams of cocaine, 36 grams of psilocybin and other evidence of drug trafficking.

Two men were arrested and charged at the time.

Brandon Corbeil, 32, of Martensville, and Brendon Brown, 34, of North Battleford, are each charged with six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Corbeil is also facing seven firearms-related charges. He was also wanted on several outstanding warrants from the Battlefords detachment for charges including assault and failure to comply with previous court orders.

Brown is facing 15 additional charges, including careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
