RCMP searching for stolen truck that fled police, related to possible Saturday morning shooting

Aug 9, 2025 | 11:57 AM

Shellbrook RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a stolen truck that ran from police.

RCMP said a red 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 with a flat bed was taken around 1:50 p.m. yesterday, August 8, from Main Street in Shellbrook with Saskatchewan license plate 297 MLE. Police added that there is a red slip tank on the flat bed, and a firearm is inside the cab.

Officers are also searching for a grey Ford F-150 truck, which they believe may have information about the theft. No license plate was given for the grey Ford.

This morning at around 10 a.m., police attempted to stop the stolen GMC on Ahtahkakoop First Nation, but it sped off and fled from police heading north towards Debden.

RCMP advised that the GMC may also be related to gunshots being heard on Ahtahkakoop earlier this morning, as a red truck was reported to be involved.

Anyone with information or who spots either the red 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 with a flat bed or the grey Ford F-150 truck is urged to contact police at 310-RCMP (7267) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
