Parade kicks off 2025 NWT days
The Battlefords Agricultural Society kicked off this year’s Northwest Territorial Days last night with their annual parade. Yesterday’s parade had a large turnout, in both the amount of spectators and the number of floats.
Candy-catchers were lined up along the sidewalks to watch the over 100 floats parade along the route that went down from 104th Street to 100th Street along 19th Avenue and back up again along 13th Avenue.
The Indigenous communities surrounding the Battlefords had colourful floats depicting cultural symbols and imagery. Hilda Rose-Kadler, Interim President of the Battlefords Agricultural Society, said the parade’s Indigenous floats were a sign of the great relationship between the various cultures in and around the area.
“I think that just talks a great bit about our community and the kind of fellowship that we have within the community and how we’re actually making great strides to come together as a North Battleford, reaching out to its partners in the community.”
