Broncos sign American forward

Aug 18, 2025 | 12:19 PM

The Humboldt Broncos have signed a new forward to their team for the fast-approaching 2025/26 season.

Stow, Massachusetts native Jacob Kulas is the newest member of the Green and Gold.

A six-foot, 216-pound player, Kulas spent all of last year in British Columbia, suiting up mainly for the Campbell River Storm of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League (VIJHL), a ‘Tier 2 Junior A League’.

In a combined 63 games during the 2024/25 campaign, split between the regular season and playoffs, the 19-year-old registered 68 points (24 goals and 44 assists).

Kulas was also called up to the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), a ‘Tier 1 Junior A League’, for a single game, as he competed for the Powell River Kings.

The 2006-born, left-shot forward was described by Humboldt Head Coach and GM, Brayden Klimosko, as versatile.

“He (Kulas) can play all three forward positions and move up and down the lineup. He has junior experience in B.C., so the transition to the SJHL should come naturally to him. We’re excited to add another player who can chip in on both sides of special teams as well,” Klimosko said in a Broncos press release.

“His combination of size and versatility makes him a valuable addition to the lineup. His arrival adds depth, flexibility, and experience to our forward group—qualities that help strengthen both our five-on-five game and our special teams.”

Humboldt has seven exhibition games on their schedule, where Kulas will likely make his debut, beginning on August 31 in Melville, against the Millionaires.

“We are excited to announce the signing of forward Jacob Kulas in preparation for the upcoming 2025–26 season, and congratulate him on joining Bronco Nation, as we can’t wait to see his impact this coming year,” added the release.
