20-year-old suspect in Alberta murder case arrested in North Battleford

A man wanted in connection with a homicide on Louis Bull First Nation in Alberta has been arrested in North Battleford Tuesday.

Police said 20-year-old Ashton Deschamps was taken into custody in the city after a warrant had been issued for his arrest on a charge of second-degree murder.

The charge relates to the death of 31-year-old Chanse Twins of Ermineskin First Nation, who was killed Aug. 13 on Louis Bull First Nation.

Deschamps had been the subject of a public alert, with RCMP describing him as dangerous and warning people not to approach him.
