Crews in Nipawin extinguish small fire caused by downed power line

The Nipawin Fire Department (NFD) was forced to put out a small fire started thanks to a downed power line.

Crews were dispatched to a grass fire along Highway 55 by Mabel Hill Cemetery Thursday afternoon.

The small fire was quickly put out.

The NFD said the fire was caused by a power line which had blown over onto a second line, when the top of the pole had broken.
